Meet Myisha Miller

From 15 to 19, I lived with alopecia areata. In my twenties, thyroid disease caused serious thinning. At 35, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and chemotherapy took all of my hair. Then, as it started to grow back, I faced frontal fibrosing alopecia, which caused permanent hair loss along my hairline.

I'm a 15-year cancer survivor, and I'm still fighting. Those seasons didn't define my limits. They became the foundation of my purpose.

I graduated from Empire Beauty School in 1996, completed the Medical Assistant program at Thompson Institute, and studied Business Administration at Manor College and the University of Phoenix. From 2000 to 2008, I worked at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network and Jefferson Health, learning patient care, medical records, insurance, and advocacy.

In 2008, I left the hospital and opened my own salon. I wanted a private space where women going through hair loss could get support, education, and real solutions without judgment or embarrassment. The kind of place I wished I had. That vision became D.D. Daughters Lace Wig Beautique.

Long before medical wigs were widely talked about, I was helping women get reimbursed by insurance for cranial prostheses. While many people saw wigs as accessories, I knew they could be medical necessities that restore confidence, dignity, and identity. Today, after more than 30 years in the beauty industry, women travel from across the country for this care.

When I sit with a woman going through hair loss, I'm not speaking from a textbook. I know the fear of watching your hair disappear. I know what it's like to look in the mirror and not recognize yourself. I've lived the questions, the frustration, and the emotions, so you don't have to face them alone.

I'm a mother of three, an entrepreneur, a cancer survivor, a health care professional, and a licensed cosmetologist. Faith has carried me through every season. One of my greatest accomplishments isn't just building a business. It's creating a place where women feel seen, understood, and supported in some of the hardest moments of their lives.
